Tirosint\u00ae contains the synthetic thyroid hormone levothyroxine sodium (also known as T4). Tirosint\u00ae is a soft capsule that contains levothyroxine dissolved in pure water. To produce the soft capsule, the auxiliary materials glycerol and gelatin are used.<\/p>\n
Levothyroxine is necessary to supplement a thyroid hormone deficiency in case of hypothyroidism. Blood tests can be used to diagnose hypothyroidism.
